Who we are

Sailio is a trading name of AIntelligence Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

Company number: 15995676. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ. Contact for all enquiries and legal notices: charter@sailio.co.uk

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean AIntelligence Ltd trading as Sailio. "You" means the person making an enquiry or booking through us.

How we work

Sailio finds and vets the yachts we list, checks live availability, and introduces you to the operator that owns and runs the yacht. Sailio acts as an agent for the charter operator, who provides the charter and contracts with you directly. We are paid a commission by the operator, never by you.

This means your charter contract is with the operator. The operator owns, maintains and crews the yacht, is responsible for its condition, and issues your charter agreement and invoice directly to you. We will always tell you which operator you are contracting with before you commit to anything.

We do not own, operate or maintain any vessel, and we do not provide the charter itself.

Bareboat charter only

We arrange bareboat charter only. This means you charter the yacht without crew and take command of it yourself.

We do not offer, arrange, package or resell skippered charter, hostess or crew services, flights, airport or marina transfers, hotel or shoreside accommodation, or any other travel service alongside the charter.

Because we arrange a single travel service and do not combine it with any other travel service, a booking made through us is not a package and is not a linked travel arrangement within the meaning of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. You are therefore not protected under those Regulations in respect of bookings made through us.

If you separately arrange skipper services, transfers or accommodation, whether with the operator or with anyone else, those arrangements are outside our involvement and are not covered by these terms.

How a booking works

You send us an enquiry for a specific yacht and week. We confirm live availability with the operator. Availability shown on this website is indicative and is always re-confirmed before anything is committed.

If the yacht is available, the operator issues a charter agreement and payment instructions directly to you. You review and accept the operator's terms and pay the operator. Your booking is confirmed by the operator, not by us.

Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance. No booking exists until the operator confirms it in writing.

Payment

You pay the charter operator directly. We do not take deposits, balance payments, security deposits or any other client money at any point. We do not process card payments for charters. If anyone claiming to represent Sailio asks you to pay us for a charter, do not pay, and contact us at charter@sailio.co.uk.

The operator sets its own payment schedule, accepted payment methods and refund terms. Those terms will be set out in the charter agreement the operator sends you.

Prices

Prices shown on this website are supplied by the operator and are quoted in euros (EUR) per week, Saturday to Saturday, unless stated otherwise.

The price shown for a yacht is the charter fee only. It does not include compulsory extras payable to the operator on arrival or in advance, for example transit log and end cleaning packages, tourist tax, and the refundable security deposit. Where we know these amounts, we list them on the yacht's page under "Mandatory costs". They are payable to the operator, not to us.

We take care to keep prices accurate, but prices, availability and yacht specifications are controlled by the operator and can change. The price that applies to your booking is the price confirmed by the operator in your charter agreement.

Any exchange rate, card or bank charges arising because you pay in a currency other than euros are your responsibility.

Your responsibilities as skipper

Bareboat charter means you take command of the yacht. Before you book, please satisfy yourself that you and your crew are competent for the intended passage.

You are responsible for holding the sailing qualifications and VHF certificate required by the operator and by Croatian law, and producing them at check-in. Operators typically require an ICC or equivalent, for UK skippers usually RYA Day Skipper Practical with the ICC issued against it, plus a Short Range Certificate. Requirements are set by the operator and by the flag state, not by us, and you must confirm them with the operator before booking.

You are also responsible for complying with the charter agreement, with Croatian maritime and customs law, and with any navigation limits the operator imposes; for the refundable security deposit and for any damage, loss or penalty for which the operator holds you liable; for arranging your own travel insurance, including cover appropriate to sailing and to the deposit, and your own travel to and from the base; and for ensuring passports, visas and any entry requirements are in order.

Cancellation and changes

Cancellations, amendments, refunds and force majeure are governed entirely by the operator's charter agreement. We have no authority to cancel, vary or refund a booking. If you want to cancel or change a booking, contact the operator; we will help you communicate with them where we can.

Information on this website

We describe the yachts we list using information and photographs supplied by the operator, and we check what we can. Even so, specifications, equipment and layouts can change without notice, and errors are possible. Photographs may show a sister ship of the same model rather than the individual yacht.

Where any information on this website conflicts with the operator's charter agreement, the charter agreement prevails.

Any guidance we publish about sailing areas, routes, weather, regulations or licensing is general editorial information, not navigational or legal advice. You remain responsible for your own passage planning and for verifying current regulations.

Our liability

We are responsible for performing our brokerage service, presenting information honestly, confirming availability accurately, and introducing you to the operator, with reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for the charter itself. In particular we are not liable for the condition, seaworthiness, equipment or availability of the yacht, for the operator's performance or insolvency, for injury, loss or damage occurring during the charter, or for the operator's handling of your deposit, cancellation or refund.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you in connection with any booking is limited to the commission we received from the operator in respect of that booking.

Complaints

If something goes wrong during your charter, raise it with the operator at the time. Most problems can only be resolved on the spot, and operators usually require prompt notice.

If you are unhappy with our service, email charter@sailio.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and give a substantive reply within 28 days.

We are not a member of ABTA and we do not participate in any alternative dispute resolution scheme. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you remain free to pursue it through the courts.

Your data

We collect only what we need to handle your enquiry and introduce you to the operator, and we share it with that operator for that purpose. We do not sell your data. We are the data controller for the information you give us and we handle it in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, email charter@sailio.co.uk.

Full details of what we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and your rights are set out in a separate privacy notice.
